I wonder if you will get anyone sayng cartoons are better. Anime tends to be more developed and involved than Western cartoons. I suppose this is because in the US and UK cartoons are considered to be only for kids. Whereas in Japan anime is written for both so they have much greater range and are more involved. Anime tends to build long story arcs out of a series, but cartoons tend to be one shot stories so there is much less character development and plot complexity.

Tom & Jerry, The Flintstones, The Supersonics, Donald Duck, Secret Squirrell, etc.

Definitely anime but those who watch anime should watch it in Japanese with English subs. I think watching anime in Japanese is better than watching it in English- it's just that sometimes the voices don't go with the characters.

anime b/c of better plot,chars,style of drawings,etc. so many reasons y ppl choose animes. american cartoons sux because mostly all episodes have thier own story lines,which anime does not b/c each episode(not filler) contributes to the storyline of the series

anime all the way! anime has far more plot and character complexity and cartoons can be plain stupid. i was watching some this afternoon and i was so bored. anime is also far more interesting.

anime of course, because the stories of animes are more interesting than the cartoons, and you can watch different type of stories like romance,action,comedy,....etc.
