I said to someone at the bar they looked gay and he got mad why? I was only trying to say he looked happy. He was dancing infront of this girl and I stepped up to him and told him how gay he looked. I also told the girl that he was really gay. Why then did he get all upset?

Basically in this day and age be grateful that's all they did "get angry" other places you come out with that sort of silly remark and that's a cue for a beat down........

Nowadays gay means homosexual, not happy.
Most people would be offended if someone just randomly went up to them and said they were homosexual.

Well, think about it! Why would you say that?
Would you just walk up to someone and say, "you look straight"!
How about "you look fat (or skinny)" or "you look black (or white)" or "you look cute (or ugly)".
Such comments are intrusive. Ever heard of "small talk"?
