I think it depends on what her incentives were. I have known several people who stayed in marriages to philanderers that were irretrievably wrecked for many different reasons: for the children, for the money, they had just become accustomed to separate lives, etc.
With Hillary there is an extra variable in the equation: that she lived with his philandering in order to pursue her personal political interests. By staying with him, she got to see first-hand the inner-workings of how the whole system worked. She got to make lots of valuable contacts too.
There are many positive and negative things I can say about Bill Clinton, but I would not wish being married to him on anyone. The irony is that staying with Bill was her ticket into the game, but it also may be her undoing. There is a sort of coldness or callousness. There is something about her that just seems personally disconnected.

Well, I think it was many things that most of us can theorize about but not really know. In the end, politically, it was very smart. I think Hillary has harbored a dream of being the first woman President since her early days in college, long before meeting Bill Clinton. I think she knew that a divorced woman would not be the first to get there. At the same time something tells me she still loves the big Romeo. I think it's probably a combination of the two - political strategy and a desire to forgive and make her marriage work. Either way I think it's a much bigger plus for her to have stuck it out and make it work, like millions of people do in their own marriages every day, then it would have been for her to bail out. I know some of the younger women, especially, see her as weak for not leaving Bill. But most of them don't have a clue what kind of strength it takes to make a marriage work after a betrayal like that. Many people in their 30's and up, know about it, if not through their own marriage, then through the marriage of friends or family that went through infidelity and survived it. So I'd have to say she was smart, though I imagine at the time it was almost irresistible to throw him under the bus and walk. I'd say the lady has strength, and a lot of it.

Hillary is definatly no longer sensible sufficient to run a freaking united states of america, in spite of each little thing she did stay with invoice after he cheated on her and what no longer, what type of moron could do this first of all. in spite of the certainty that she is a huge fool who would not be attentive to something, people would be stupid sufficient to vote for her because of the fact "we could have a woman in place of work because of the fact there has never been one yadayada." I wan't a woman as a president in simple terms as much as another lady in this united states of america yet stable lord people atleast anticipate a sensible one that is actual extra healthful to run the country! If that dumb democrat gets elected, united statesa. is screwed.

well she was both. she was smart because it enabled her to build a respectable political carrer based on her last name. it was stupid because the conservative votes she had (before bill she was a registered republican) are now out the window because she stuck with him when he cheated on her

Very smart. It would have been political suicide if she would have left him, however I don't think she likes him.
