When I sing high notes i sound kind of screechy, well in my opinion. How do I fix that? yes i am positive i am a soprano. i tried out for a chorus and was put into soprano part. how do i fix my problematic screechiness? please help thanks!

relax, make sure your soft palet is raised. in case you don't know what that is, it's in the back of the roof of your mouth. it'll feel almost like you are going to yawn.
support from your diaphragm, and very important, don't force it, just let the notes flow.
remember high notes can be heard better with less volume behind them.
warm up, and if i were you i would talk to the chorus director, or maybe even get a voice teacher to help.

I think you should try to sing in a scale to get the correct notes instead of being sharp/flat. When you are sharp by +5 on the tuner it will sound screechy and it becomes the flat of the next note. Make sure you warm up correctly so that you can reach the right note. And tuck in your stomach muscles to get true tone instead of falsetto.

make sure you warm up your voice before you sing. Start in the middle of your range and slowly work your way up and down. It should help.

try using ur head voice or opening your mouth more though some people just need a good voice streach like scales
