If you want a clear answer the first time, why don't you go to the website that covers this stuff? It's pretty clearly stated right on, you guessed it, the Passport Canada website!!
"Will my child require a new passport once he or she reaches the age of 16 and still holds a valid passport?
No. The passport of a child who turns 16 years of age continues to be valid until it expires. A passport issued to a child is identical to a passport issued to an adult."

Because you are asking the question on the U.S. site and not the Canadian site. Try answers.yahoo.ca
