Make sure that you are breathing right and have good posture. You should be either sitting up straight, or standing is best. Make sure your sternum is lifted, and when you breath, breath "down and out." Your shoulders should not move when you breath, but breath from your diaphragm. This is one of the best thngs to always do, whether your projecting or not. Also when you sing, find your larnyx and make sure it doesnt go up. If your larnyx moves upward, your reaching which is bad. So in summary, whether its breathing or doing anything with singing, keep it down, and your voice quality and volume will go up.

Voice projection is really just singing loudly but it has to do with support so that you don't run out of air easily. It's important especially if you sing with a choir and you're not easily heard.

To start with, try to get some warm-up exercises done before you sing, and when you hit the note, listen to it carefully. It should be soft at first and then gradually get louder, as if the train is moving into the station and then you can hear it as it arrives. Also make sure that you OPEN YOUR MOUTH WIDE! That way it won't come out mumbled and muffled.

Support comes with practice using your real voice, not falsetto, and scales is important. I stress the SNATCH method. It's really using your stomach to produce the sound 'sss' in intervals but with one breath. When someone says 'snatch', you let go of that breath and start again. You can try this method for holding your breath for the longest time, then try it by 'snatching' really quickly. Put your hand at your belly button to make sure that your stomach is pushing in with every 'ss'. :D
