Yes they should play in college before going pro. But if you look at players like Kevin Garnett or Lebron James or Tracy McGrady they are all players out of high school who are now all star players playing on different teams.

That question doesn't have the connectivity. Shaun Livingston's injury doesn't have anything to do with his age or college experience. KG and Kobe are in the league since high school and they don't pull a Shaun. Can u explain? Regardless of injury, both Greg Oden and Kevin Durant should become pro. Remind you Shaun is earning heaps for a living and he can still study like Jordan and the other players did to finish off (or starting) his degree.

No, Shaun Livingston is a millionaire who was actually ready for the NBA, even though I would have liked for him to play for Duke. He has already had some big games, including the playoffs last year. He will eventually recover from this injury. But this incident would make me want to go pro, because this same thing could happen in college. Durant and Oden are men among boys and I think are ready to go now.

These guys should definitely finish school before going pro. Not because of the Shaun Livingston debacle, but because then they have something to fall back on. If they finished school, went pro and in their first year get injured, they still have money earning potential. Guys like lebron and garnett come along once in a while. I wouldn't want to take that chance. basketball will still be there 4 or 5 years down the line.

Absolutely not. It's college that will 'always be there'. His injury is exactly what proves that basketball will not.
You would have a hard time proving that Shaun Livingston's decision to skip college in some way contributed to that injury.
But I can easily prove to you that even if he never plays basketball again in his life, he will be in $$$$$$$$$ for the rest of it.
If that injury had happened in college, he'd have nothing. As it is, if he has to retire, he can afford to go to whatever college he wants.

Not if you're as good as Durant and guaranteed to be a top pick overall. School will always be there. You can get a degree at any age. Take the money while you can dudes. But If there is any doubt at all about going first round, you should return to school.

It all depends. Now that the NBA set a "no high school" restricition. It doesn't matter. I think its stupid because there wont be players like kg tmac amare and lebron. but maybe some of the high school players that might think about going to the NBA could use some more experience in college.

NO! its the complete opposite, BECAUSE stuff like that can happen, they SHOULD go to the NBA as soon as possible to avoid being hurt in NCAA.
