There is no completely honest person in the world, nor has there ever been, so let us dispense with that from the get go. What we are talking about is degrees of honesty and the situation one is caught in. Example: You have a brother and you guys are as close as can be. You find out your brother has been sleeping with your boss's wife. You just got that promotion you've been working your tail off for five years to get. Your boss calls you into his office and tells you he suspects his wife has been having an affair with your brother and asks you if his fear is true. Bear in mind that he trusts your word and will not doubt you. Will you be honest?
Second Scenario: Your wife is super sensitive about her weight and she asks if she needs to lose some. You think she has been getting a little rotund around the gut area. Do you stay honest?
Two different scenarios with varying degrees of severity. We are guided by our own moral compass. Coolheadedness and ineptitude is separated in that coolheadedness allows you to calculatingly diffuse a possible volatile situation successfully. Ineptitude is just a general lack of such skills.

I STAR this question for the thinking it generated while answering.

Has there ever been any person in the history of the mankind who was never dishonest either in thought or action? I can't believe there ever was or will be.

We can be honest as long as it doesn't hurt us too much... we need to know what hurts us in order to understand why we can not be honest all the time. Come to think of it, it is quite simple really.... whatever goes against our desires or wishes is what hurts us. So, in order to be totally honest, we need to eliminate any strong desires or wishes.... and without any strong desires or wishes, we can have no personality or individuality. Absolute honesty is achievable only by eliminating our 'self'.

In that case our anger against dishonesty is hypocrisy and tolerance could be wisdom rather than ineptitude.

yes!!! I am here. I am honest to a fault. Sad thing is i am usually teated like some kind of a freak because of it. I am who I am and nothing anybody thinks or says is going to change that.

I am a victim of my own honest ways so much so that people distrust me out of their own dishonest ways.
