I've seen lots of other colors of tarps they dont come in any really beautifull colors, but if you need one to match your landscape you need to search in more garden shops/hardware stores I see the most of the other colors at The Home Depot. I dont think there is really a reason for them being blue...

They come in many colors. I've bought them in blue, green, tan, etc. But you're right in that the majority of tarps are blue. I suppose the color is appealing to the masses.

They're not. Green is a popular color for plastic tarps - same material as the blue ones. They also come in brown, tan and other colors.

The color of the tarp designates its thickness/durability/size. Blue are lightweight (economical) tarps. They are the most common.

Perhaps they're blue because they must be outside in all kinds of weather, which makes them sad. But seriously, I've seen other colors - most often dark green, but they are usually that odd and not very pretty blue shade. I will book mark this answer to see if anyone comes up with a logical answer.
