When you purchasing any property it is advisable that you should take serch report from advocate. Should be a genuine Registy,Nagarpalika Permission,Regarding Serch report please also arrange to take serches in theoffices of collector & Municipality to ascertain whether the properties stand in his/their name and whether there are any outstanging or payments in respect of the properties pending in the said offices serches of the said properties will also require to be taken at Land Registry office for 13 Years in order to as certain that there are no encumbrances or outstanding against the said properties and that there are no documnent in existence to her than the copies of land records .

Go to your county court house, thay should have records of everyone how owned your house inthe past and when it was built.
