I've been out of high school almost 2 years and while I miss the social dynamic over it, not a day goes by that I don't thank God for getting me out of there alive. But I still have friends, some of whom who have punked out on missions, dropped out of college and even gotten pregnant, who still go back to visit teachers on a monthly to weekly basis. The only time I've been back was to get my transcripts.

How long did it take you to over come the need to be inside the familiar halls of your high school?

The minute I got my diploma & trade certificate. To me high school was merely the stepping stone for college. When I left college I missed that though.

This year will be my 20th year out of high school. I have not visited it once nor gone to any reunion.

I was never to attached to high school so when I left high school I never went, or looked back again. I will take college life over high school life any day.

I overcame it the day after I left it. All I could think was "thank god" because I was tortured and ridiculed all through high school. My biggest life events (read: worst) happened during high school.

About 15 minutes, and I was top of my class in everything. I just found school to be totally shallow and boring.
