I am a Veteran. I want to know where all these troops are going to come from? I also hate when they try to soften or take the rights i fought for in the name of safety.

Our country--God bless it regardless of all sorrounding us at this time--is slowly going down hill. It is such a shame--politics rule it all and if we the people let them--it will be too late to do anything about our own downfall. We the people have no backbone anymore and no one seems interested in standing as a united nation anymore. We are the only country who has not adopted a set language--which of course would be English.
Our counties capital and all of it's inherent politicians -- is so confused and so self-righteous that all they care about is who's first in the polls and who can get more money than other guy. They don't really care about our people-they don't really don't care about our troops fighting in the wars--that's just a political cover-up.
I feel bad for the vets who fought before to bring our country to a strong united nation--what was it for now? The men and women fighting now--all of you -- have been spat upon by your own country--because of the politicians swaying the people to believe one way or the other--
Our country as I see it right now--can be that strong country as we used to know it to be--but if things continue to proceed the way they are--then we are in trouble and we have asked for it--

so very sad... there are a few things i can say that reflect the incompetence of our leadership #1 thing that annoys the hell out of me is how ouor rights are being slowly erroded every year by adding more & more laws that is putting a stangle hold on our inaliable rights life liberty & pursuit of happiness especially now we got the homeland security in effect, also our economy is about to take a turn i believe, we have for the last 30 years been a bull market any corp or business stock will experience approx 1/2 loss befor a growth spurt with all the investments in big business the rich are getting richer & the poor are getting poorer & the elimination of the middle working class is eliminated this is also real bad #3 the stolen elections have left alot of ppl thinking that we r powerless, that there is nothing anyone can do but sit & wait that democracy is a false illusion #4 there is an underlying attitude of indifference that has been supported by the wallstreet machine to live to consume for self interest only ppl dont make eye contact or say hello anymore they are too self absorbed to overcome their ego. #5 the amount of distraction available is overwhelming with video games, internet and satallite TV is turning us into zombies and getting worse every generation the dropout rate from HS & college is close to 50% #6 the hypocracy is so blatant its sickening how bush says he has Christian values & orders the slaughter of civilian communities is this the example we really want to project to the world?i think these are just a few things i will mention there a many more numerous problems that are manifesting im a vet who served in somalia & i know how bad life can get & i hope my criticism will inspire ppl to want to redirect our policies to support the will of the people

Our country I believe is slowly going downhill. Now I'm only in 10th grade but my Global teacher was talking about imperialism and industrialization and everything, and he said by the way it's going within 50 years he believe that China or Japan will be the new #1 country in the world, a title too many Americans seem to through around about our country. As we are in trillions of dollars of debt and have troops stationed in more than 130 other countries (spending more on our military than every other single country in the world combined), I don't think we will be on top for very long.

I see our country falling far behind in the global economy. We import everything because of our greed for lower prices while we manufacture nothing. We have become a service nation. We hand over the reigns to the filthy rich and then complain when they take advantage of us. We take no responsibility for our own actions and we blame everyone else for our problems. America has a huge wake up call coming we have sold our souls to the lowest bidder and now we are going to pay the price. The price of everything has gone up yet we still make the same pay. Our economy cannot sustain our foolish ways. I see our economy folding once we max out the credit cards then I see a free for all to pick up the pieces of our failed ways. Buy gold and silver it's the only thing that will hold value when the economy collapses.

Congress is likely to pass a Summer 2008 bill that the president will have to sign off on unless he'd like to see hillary in the whitehouse. So probably by then.

There is only so much the U.S. economy can take. But the real question is long term U.S. stragetic interests. I don't fully understand U.S. policies attempt to steer this one, other than as a really expensive exercise. Doesn't really make sense to me. Where is the U.S. going with their policy?

I thnk what we may see is a dem push into 'Pan Americanism' for a few years... perhaps to address issues such as Chavez. Chavez is like the 70's and early 80's Saddam of latin america. mixed with a little Kruschev and Fidel. can you see it.. just think of all the oil!!! By then Jeb should be up to plate. just look to florida to see how much he likes guns...afghanistan was tabled until 2009...atleast.

Slowly going downhill? Nah.....We are reaching crusing speeds! We are accelerating!! See the bottom? Hit the gas more!
We are in for a seriously rude awakening here real soon!
It all starts with this stupid National ID program that is supposed to be enacted next Spring. Can't hold a job or enter a federal building without it. Can't travel without it.
I am starting to wonder if my husband wasted half of the first 5 years of our marriage serving this country over seas! What a joke this administration has become. Christian president? I don't think so....Have you all seen the Bohemian Grove footage that utube is showing? Yea, our good ole prez is right in the thick of that!
Gee...with such great "friends" (our government) who needs to worry about "enemies" (Osama)

OMG, I was just having this conversation at work today and the comment about the parallelism b/w the fall of the Roman Empire and the US came up as well. It makes a lot of sense, I had never thought of it that way before. Something drastic has to be done and fast with the US policy before Mr Bush attacks Iran, then who knows, North Korea next?!?

To Hell in a Handbag....it's really sad, the way things are going in our country. It's really no wonder all the other countries hate us. We are a selfish nation. We've lost our motals and compassion for others. We've stopped teaching our kids tolerance and acceptance...hell, most of us have stopped teaching our kids anything at all. There are very few people in this country that care about their neighbor anymore....fellow man is just another obstacle they have to get through to reach the top.....I wish like heck that people would remember that money and success are not the way to happiness...love of self and others is.

Every great nation will fall eventually.......I believe our time is coming. I dare not guess how, the possibilities are numerous and each horrific in it's own way..we have our fingers in so many pies....We have never truly known what our government is up to ......I know in my 34 years I have seen alot of changes and some of those only to strip us of our rights. Rights our ancestors faught and died to give us. I was raised in a military family and I respect every man or woman who has ever sacrificed for this country..for me..thank you...Unfortunately, I believe it is not the people of this great nation but the government itself, who has forsaken us all.......
