There is a MASSIVE amount of "Hispanics" in the US (I don't know why I'm not supposed to say they are Mexicans, since that is where they are from). Especially in Washington and the southwestern states.

Not just Mexican People. There are other Latin American cultures such as Guatemalan, Ecuadorean, Chilean, Puerto-Ricans, etc., who feel comfortable speaking their native tongue.

If you haven't noticed, Hispanics are a growing consumer and U.S. advertising agencies are catering to them by advertising in Spanish to attract more customers.

It's wrong to generalize only Mexicans when there are other Latin-Americans who speak Spanish as well.

Hispanics are the largest minority in this country. Besides what is so difficult about the incorporation of a new language? Americans have no problem forcing themselves on other countries but turn around and b**** when they have to change their ways a little. Learning a new language will be better for us anyway...as a world power I'm surprised we are still stuck in our little bubble of ignorance.

Everybody knows that the border states would be in financial doo-doo without braceros to do the work. so money is correct sir!
I don't mind stores that have a sign Se habla Espanol.. I even like to speak a little spanish now and then to keep my hand in. but we need to limit the door now and let what we have assimilate... not just spanish speaking but all.

You've never been to Boston's Little Italy, have you?

It's not unique to Mexicans. You just notice it more because in many areas they make up one of the larger minority groups.

I recommend learning Spanish. It's a fun language and they have a better handle on absurdist comedy than even the British.

Good question since the Indian, Korean, Vietnamese populations do not make those same demands... but then again, they don't expect free services at every turn either.
