Frankly, I can tell you that STUDYING HARD BY ITSELF ALMOST NEVER HELPS!
The most important thing is UNDERSTANDING what you study. That can happen in 2 minutes, during classes or never. If you fall closer to the second cathegory then the first, then I believe you do have to study hard. Several things should be noted though:
1. Try not to study alone. Talking to someone about the subject you're studying helps.
2. Try explaining what you learn. The best way to learn is teaching others.
3. Talk to your teacher. I'm sure he/she will be more than willing to help and clear any issues still unclear or less comprehensible to you.

We can't and are not all good at everything. Sometimes a person just doesn't "get it". If possible try and concentrate on those things that you are good at. One mistake that managers of people in business make is to spend most of their effort on the bottom 10% of the workers. Scre* those bottom 10%, concentrate on the top 10%, they will be your producers. Same with your subjects. If you can get by on your bad ones then fine, concentrate on totally understanding your good one.
Good luck, you'll do fine

Studying hard doesn't mean you get good result, the way you study is important .
--understand the subject...not just keeping in mind everything you read without understanding.
--read about the subject from differant sourses.
--teachers like students bring new things to the subject...be more creative.

It could be that you aren't studying the correct way. Do you learn more when you see something or when you hear it? Do you remember pictures better, numbers better, or words better? Base your studying off of how you learn best, not off of how other people study.

It is possible that you are not understanding what it is the instructor is looking for. University isn't just about studying, it is also about jumping through hoops, doing what the teacher wants.
Speak to your instructor and ask what it is they are looking for exactly so you can cater your studying to what they are looking for.
