Hi! Congratulations on the pregnancy. As far as speeding up labor goes:

1) Some intercourse helps to do the trick. Semen helps to ripen the cervix. Your orgasm helps, too.

2) I am a Doctor of Chiropractic certified in Acupuncture. My wife had the same problem and the acupuncture worked wonders. Find someone like me or a Licensed Acupuncturist to help you out.

3) Go for some nice, long walks (nothing too strenous) to get you pelvis moving and to help it open up. You can even climb stairs (make sure someone is there to help, pregnacy can throw off your center of gravity for obvious reasons.)

4) Relax and visualize your cervix opening and your baby dropping down.

Hope that helps and you deliver really soon.
Good luck and enjoy your new arrival.

Oil of Evening Primrose. You can get capsules at any health food store. Take one orally and place one on your cervix (difficult feat, I know) twice a day. This will help prepare your cervix.

Keep busy is the only other suggestion I have. Take walks. Scrub the kitchen floor. Try using a Yoga ball instead of the couch and dining room chair. It helps keep you moving and actually feels good. Sex, spicy food, whatever, try them. They may work for you.

Just try to keep active and doing whatever you can to take your mind off the fact that this baby is still hanging out inside your womb.

One word of warning: Do not use cod liver oil. In my experience (2x) it just gave me horrible cramping diahrrea for hours, but no baby. Not worth it.

Walk, it's hard but walking is the best way to start labor. Sex helps, and squatting or bouncing on a big ball can help too. Ultimatey, the best way is walking. There are herbs etc but you should talk with your doctor before doing anymore than the above.

Have sex, and get an orgasm...That will help constrict the uterus and can help you go into labor...otherwise, walk, and walk some more, I walked for about 2 hours, then I started feeling little cramps, and then I kept walking...I had my baby the next day. It is no garantee, but walking or bouncing on one of the yoga balls can help (they did the yoga ball thing for me at the hospital to help me dialate.) Good luck!

Walk, but not so much that you get sore. I did that because I was having the same problem, and became so sore and tired I had a harder time with labor.

Just try to relax, do some yoga or meditation or go get a massage. Your baby will come when he/she is ready, sorry to say :)

One thing that worked for my wife was walking. Her and I took a few laps around the block. She had our daughter at 12:30 that night. The other thing I have had people tell us, was sit on one of those big exercise balls and just move around on it. I hope these idea's help, and good luck.

Sorry to say, but there are a lot of "home remedies" for inducing labor, but most doctors will tell you that they usually don't work. Hang in there, you're almost there! Good luck!!
