why wont itunes 7.1 work on my computer? anyting past itunes 6 wont work and wont even open up just double click on it and nothign happens

i have windows xp from 2004
512 MB RAM
2.9 GHZ processer
128 MB Video card
120 GB Hard drive

nope i know its the windows version and i tried the itunes.exe thing and it still wont work, thanks 4 the help though guys
but does anyone know what to do?!?

Your hardware should be fine.

If you are clicking on a shortcut, it may no longer be connected to the iTunes exe. I've had that happen in the latest versions. I've had to relink the shortcut. Try going to the iTunes folder which defaults to C:/Program Files/iTunes and clicking on the iTunes.exe file. It should run. I don't know what else would have caused it to not work unless the install messed up (rare).

To make a new shortcut you just need to click on the iTunes.exe file and select "send to", the "desktop (as shortcut)". There are other ways to do it, too.

It's pretty common for Windows users to accidentally download the Mac versions of iTunes.
