"The sims 2 pc" help?

Ok, I looked up some cheats for the sims 2 pc.

It says to type
"ctrl,shift, & c"
Am I supposed to type it right as soon as I get to the neighborhood? Or after I've clicked a house? Because when I type it in the neighborhood all it does is take a picture?
It said that a screen is supposed to show...but it doesn't?

Can you help me understand how to use these cheats???

Or if you know some cheats can you please tell me them...Like money cheats especially...Thanks :)

No, don't type it as soon as you get to the neighborhood...if you want your sims to move into an expensive house, move them into an empty lot first and then press "Shift + Ctrl + C" and type in "motherlode". After that save the game and return to the neighborhood. Now move that family out of the lot and move them into the house that you want, and now you can redo the cheat as many times as you want to buy furnishings, etc.

I always make them poor and try to have them live on the edge because I think it's more fun that way, but I do the occasional cheat sometimes too, lol. :-D

They can either come around when they visit your house when you move into a house or you can go out into a community lot and they sometimes pop up. Once you meet one member of the family, you can invite the whole househole over through the phone and then everyone can interact that way, that's how I got my sims to meet people I wanted them to fall in love with.
