please don't take any offense. But if you haven't read the book it;s a shame. I personally think this is a brilliant read and you should read it. If you do I'd think it'd be pretty obvious.

Chopin is considered a regional novelist in that her stories are thematically centered around the south. She always discusses issues of race and feminist roles, especially as those roles and ideas were changing. Maybe this web site will help.
