For heavens sake do not waste good gin on cleaning jewellery, drink it. Any cheap industrial alcohol will remove the dirt and grease just as well.

Why would you want to use gin to clean your diamond jewelry? I mean is there a particular reason? I believe that you would get it just as clean with a good commercial cleaner for jewelry.

Gin contains alcohol - and alcohol is great at removing the accumulated grease and gunk that accumulates on jewelry.
