Looks like you got your answer..but seriously...you really DO need to do your own homework! How are you going to pass the test? You can't take Yahoo! Answers in your classroom with you!
Know how I know it is homework?
Cause you don't use that ridiculous math crap (except for adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying) out here in the real world!

okay, first - write the equation in the standard form of a quadratic by subtracting 15x from both sides to get

5 xsquared minus 15x = 0.

Then this factorizises nicley as (5x - 15).x = 0. So the factors are (5x - 15) = 0 or x = 0. Take 5x - 15 = 0 to get x = 3. Check your answers, x = 0 works and also 5 times 3 squared = 5 times nine = 45 and 45 is 15 times 3; so x = 3 is indeed the other solution for this quadratic.

The key here is to rearrange the equation right at the start to make it look like a quadratic.
