Years ago I had a job that I had to give presentations on a daily basis. One day, my boss came in with a tape recorder and asked me to give one of the presentations and allow him to record it. Then, he played it back.
I had no idea that my voice was monotone! There were no inflections...nothing! I almost put myself to sleep listening to it!
Needless to say, I immediately began working on my voice.
At the time, I was a little upset, but looking back, I appreciate what he did.

for some reason, whenever i know im being recorded, i sound like a little girl. I go and hide when i hear myself on the answering machine. I don't actually sound like a little girl. I sound like a teenager (which i am)

Yes. I hate the sound of my voice on a recording. I sound like a little kid with a cold (I'm 49).

I always thought I had a pretty good voice, untill I heard myself talk on tape, I definatly sound different than it sounds like to me . It was upsetting. It's okay tho. It makes you think before you say something??

Yeah and i constantly record and try to change the way i sing and speak to make it sound the way i think it should.

Yes. I found that I either sound like a little kid or a guy at times. It's really weird.

I sound like hell on recordings. I often wonder if that's how I really sound to people.

I figured out I sounded like I was five....when I was five. It didn't change.....

Although someone said I sound like Natalie Portman, so I'll stick with that from now on.
