To those back home
I am gone
yet my memory will go on
kiss the kids I love them so
let them know I had to go
Tell my parents there are no regrets
to those who I fought beside
who came from nation wide
you are all my brothers and sisters
to my bride brush those tears aside
I am here so far yet so near
I am all around in the sky and in the ground
I am in our kids
in your heart
my love caries on
when u need me look to the sky
let your mind fly
I will be there holding your hand
goodbye to those I love
we will meet again one day
we will play in the heavens above

INFO ON POEM i wrote this because i had a friend who died over seas and this is what i thought he would have wanted to say to his loved ones.

quite a sad elegy, which means it is a tear jerk-er. Couldn't help feeling the loss of your friend and thought about Iraq for sure, and those who will never kiss their sweet kids' dimples again!
Consider these suggestions:
-yet my memory will go (LIVEinstead of go) on
-my love caries on (spelling)
-when u (YOU) need me look to (UP omit to) the sky
-period at the end!!??
Quite profound, quite moving. I lost a dear friend too and kept reflecting. You should send a copy to the family! It may be a small gesture but a monumental therapy for the grief that haunts inside the castle of their hearts. Identification with my situation and sympathy (not pity) is what I recall I needed most when I too lost a beloved. They might be experiencing extreme loneliness as I did and a poem like this may speak a thousand words!!

Still needs a bit of work. Set it aside for a day or two and then come back to it. You'll find what is needed. The poem has great promise.
