In computing, PC card (originally PCMCIA card) is the form factor of a peripheral interface designed for laptop computers. It was originally for memory expansion, but the existence of a usable general standard for notebook peripherals led to all manner of devices being made available in this form. Typical devices include network cards, modems and hard disks.

They can be used for many add on's a 1394 fire wire or a modem or a 24 pin printer cable adapter, usb adapter, and cable LAN network card, and there are others depending on manufacture.

Wireless network card (for older laptops that don't have built-in wireless). Plug in modem/adapter to use your cell phone as a modem. Network interface card, again for older laptops that don't have a network jack.
