Yes, alot of gay folk look down on those claiming to be bisexual.
Reasons I can think of are that alot of homosexual people say that they are bisexual, because for some reason they think that straights will have more respect for them if they are bisexual. Also, some homosexual people say that they are bisexual because, if they can no longer handle the stresses of other people's hatred toward them, they can always find a friend of the opposite sex and marry them, and pretend to be in love with them. This way they will appear to be straight to people, and things will be easier for them.
Also, there are some straight girls thesew days who are whores and pretend to be bisexual strictly to attract men. Like it's a competition to see who can be the most sexually immoral and irresponsible.

I too am bi. Most of friends are gay. Some of them think that bisexuality is a stepping stone to gay. They are soo sure that I will one day be done with men completely and this is just the first step. I disagree. I have a bi friend who has been bi all her life. I think we are lucky to be bisexual because it means we can love people based on who they are and gender isn't an issue. I've found that the gay community is more accepting of me than the straight community.

I've heard some people who think that bi is "just a stage" on the way to being gay or straight, or that it's sort of an immature thing that young girls do when they're "exploring" and "curious" about sexuality. I think both of those opinions aren't really true--they're just stereotypes, like saying that all gay guys love fashion and interior decorating. :) And science doesn't even agree, anyway, because the psychology classes I've taken see sexuality as a spectrum, with hetero on one end and gay/lesbian on the other, with bi being in the middle. I'm lesbian, and I kind of admire bis--it seems like it would be tough to know who to settle down with (which gender, I mean) if you wanted a long-term, monogamous relationship.
Anyway, that's my take on it! The "selfish/fake" thing seems dumb--how could someone fake being bi?

I think some people have issues dealing with bis, especially when they're first coming out, since it means there's something else out there to try to understand! I was married to a man for 5 years, but many of my friends were lesbians, since I met a lot of lesbians in my women's studies classes. After I got divorced I was with a woman for 15 years. I came out to my family, work, friends etc and so did my partner. Now I'm with a man, and actually it's harder to tell my gay friends I'm with a guy! I have to admit I still don't feel comfortable doing anything I didn't do when I was with a woman, so I don't (like marriage, which I abhor). Straights vary, some guys think I must be a sex maniac, women usually are like, so what?
Good luck!

I have a 17 year old foster child who considers herself to be Bisexual. This is hard for me to understand, because I think that people who are lesbian, gay or transgendered have real issues to deal with. In a time when the L G and T have a need to be respected and accepted for who they are, why would this group of people (BI) be allowed as a part of that community? in my opinion they make it hard for people to take L,G,and T seriously. They should boot out Bisexuals altogether.

well the world has changed and who cares what others think as long as you're happy with who and what you're doing and most of all . .. not harming anyone in the process.
its good that one knows how to enjoy "both worlds" . . . probably thsoe who are commenting are jealous or envy or maybe they dont have what it takes to be bi!
are we gonna comply to them and stay insuspension? or are we running our own lives?
do what our heart desires and it takes 2 hands to clap and if not . . . homo, bi, gay or whahatever wont be here?
what fake they're talking about . . . we're in "action' aint we? and the pleasures and desires aroused aint fake and thats one thing for sure . . .lol.
be happy and contented and do whatever it takes but to be on the safe side and not harming others?

i dont look down on bis. However, I do think often they are bi but are keeping the straight side public and the gay side secret. That lying is something I dont like!

For some reason or another, it seems as though gay/lesbian cultures DO frown upon those who are Bi...my response to those groups and/or individuals:
1) Do you like ice cream? If yes, continue...
2) Do you like cookies? If yes, continue...
3) Have you ever eaten both at the same time? If yes, continue
4) Did you enjoy eating both at the same time? If yes...
I think you get my drift. So, if you're Bi you're Bi...wanna really get at them? Say to them, "At least I'm closer to society's definition of normal being BI than you are being GAY!!!"

Well I'm Bi, and no one has said anything to me, gay or straight. I tend to lean towards homosexuality but I still find women sexually attractive too. I think anyone who gets lost in a label is selling themselves short.
