Cool, if you're wondering why much of the world is in such a economic slump right now, and why some countries like China are on top, this is because much of the investments from other countries have gone there. Usually, these corporations close their companies in their homeland, and then switch to China because the labor is cheaper there.
This is just one of the reasons. The other reason is because China has very low material prices. By material, I mean raw materials. Plus, the China market is currently expanding. China contains over a billion of people. Just think about the size of this population. It's nearly 1/5 of the entire globe!! With a market this size, the opportunities are almost endless. That is why China is currently improving her domestic state, and has been developing its markets, and upgrading the livelihood of its people.

Hong Kong in particular has historically had the most economic freedom and least amount of regulation of any place on earth. That is slowing changing. Apparently, they can't handle success.
