It depends on where you are, both geographically and also, chronologically. Age makes a huge difference in ' how long can I hold on'. The older you are, the more rapidly you must 'go'. You must be very young to ask this question in it's present format!

If I am away from home, I try to get to a restroom when I'm starting to feel uncomfortable.
At home, I'll go right away unless I am doing something that I need to try to finish.

It depends on what I am doing at the moment. I am thinking that we men and dogs have a special capacity for holding it in longer than any.
