I think they can get a wildcard next year and go to the superbowl, why not. Win the superbowl absolutly not. No NFC team will win for a few years.

The 49ers WILL make the playoffs in the next three years. Besides the Saints, they had the best turn around in the NFL last year. They just signed ashley lelie, which gives the niners a big play threat downfield. And of course they have Frank Gore.. On the defensive side they strengthened the secondary with Nate Clements, and two safety's. In the draft they are going to pick up a defensive lineman that will back become the dominating force when Bryant Young retires. I think that the niners only challenge to win the Division next year will be the cardinals. But they are doing the right things and are heading in the direction of a super bowl win in the next three years. GO NINERS!!!

Playoffs, quite possibly next season... Barring Frank Gore getting hurt, Alex Smith playing like crap... Vernon Davis will present a GREAT target at tight end/wide reciever with his size, speed, and leaping ability, think of a faster Antonio Gates in a 49ers Uniform... The o-line needs a little work, and they could add a few recievers in the draft and free agency like Kevin Curtis or Dante Stallworth, and Dwayne Jarrett *cough cough get some of those guys if ya can cough cough* the defensive line, well playing Bryant Young in the middle is the best 3-4 tackle they have, they could add another D-end to help that side of the D-line... Manny Lawson and the rest of the Linebackers are doing alright, they might need to draft a few younger, faster guys in the draft like say Rufus Alexander..... Nate Clements should help that secondary as should Michael Lewis, but they need to shore up free safety and solve that rotating door that is the other cornerback spot... Dayleon McCutcheon of the Browns was released the other day, maybe adding him would help, and if he doesnt work at corner move him to free safety...... if they try to fix those problems they could do great, Playoffs, yes....... Superbowl visit Maybe, Super bowl win, NO

It is all going to depend on Alex Smith's progression. As a QB, he started learning to control a game as the season ended. Norv Turner's departure will be missed but they are running the same offense so the blow shouldnt be too bad. Free Agency isnt over yet either and the 49ers have a projected 7-8 picks in the first 4 rounds in this years draft. So if the 49ers draft as well as they did these last 2 years, it could get ugly in a few years.

Playoffs- Deffinately
Superbowl?- Doubtful but a lot can happen in 3 years

The 49ers will definetely make the playoffs this year if they play like or better than they did last season. All we need is a couple of good wide recievers for Alex Smith to hit and we will have a good Offensive team. Defence needs a bit of work tho, Bryant Young can't carry the whole defensive team. If Alex Smith can get some good coaching from someone like Steve Young or Joe Montana(Legend) then he will be the next big QB in the game.
GO THE NINERS!!!!!!!!

No because the Seahawks will forever take the division. If they go they will be the wild-card team and there are too many better teams than the 49'ers that the wild card will go to...like the Giants.

So...better be a Seahawks fan because Paul Allen is loaded, he just paid for the highest paid safety in football, and got another safety and earlier bought a defensive line-man.

Wait until he spends money on the offensive, no chance pal!

yes they will make the playoffs. It would be a shocker if they made the superbowl and even more if they could beat a afc team once there. anything can happen in the nfl though :)

I doubt it. As many people as they have signed, none are all that great. When put together, they won't make much of a difference. If they make it to the playoffs in the next decade I'll be impressed.

They have a better chance then some teams...they are definately gettng better...and their run game surely stepped up last season. If they can get Alex Smith to not make as much rash decisions and maybe get him some quality WR's,..Not to mention stepping up the D a little, and they soon will be a contending year in/out team.
