Yes this is probably whats happening. I didnt have any pain for the first year, then suddenly one night in bed I had the most awful pain and I didnt know what it was, but then when I went to the bathroom and saw the blood I knew it must be period pain. Its actually a good thing in a way if this is happeneing, because you can usually get to know when you're going to start. With me, I get a slight pain about 2 days before, then when it starts to get worse I know that Im going to start that day or the next morning. Just be ready with a pad or tampon, and take some painkillers or use a hot water bottle and this will ease the pain. As a sufferer of serious period pain I would suggest that if your pain gets really bad, some good painkillers are Nurofen, Solphadeine (soluble in water) or Feminax (especially for period pain). I also find that the best thing I can do is to take a few tablets, heat up a hot water bottle or wheat bag (a little bean bag thing which you heat up) and put it across the bottom of your back whilst laying down. I usually fall asleep for a while and wake up feeling much better

if you get period pain, chances are, it means you're ovulating. That can cause pain in some females. You should try using this heating patch, or an electric heating blanket to help relax that muscles and ease off cramps
