He does seem to be a pretty lame quaterback. He is pretty gifted athletically, but probably should have played another position. If he manages to ruin the career of the new coach will that make him a serial coach killer?

He's beyond a coach killer, he's a franchise killer.

With all the guys that have been switched in and out personnel wise and through 4 coaches (if you count Phillips at interim) no one has managed to do much with him on the roster. What people seem to forget is that just before Vick came along, the Falcons made it to Super Bowl XXXIII and lost to Jon Elway's Broncos. So we're not talking about some horrible franchise. And the Falcons have tried to build an offense around him by picking T.J. Duckett at RB (and adding Dunn) in 2002, picking WR's in both 2004 and 2005 (Michael Jenkins and Roddy White). And they had Reeves, Mora, and Phillips coaching. But still nothing.

When you wade through all that it becomes pretty clear that the one element that have yet to "adjust" is Vick at QB. And being someone who's watched the NFC South for awhile as a Bucs fan is convinced this is no coincidence. The Falcons have had talent, just no one to capitalize on it.

This is a make or break year for him under Petrino's system. He will be expected to throw more often and run less. And Petrino has the nerve to bench him if he doesn't perform. Could it cost him his job? Possibly. But he'll be the one that will show that Vick isn't the QB for the Falcons.

A coach killer? no. Vick actually did great things before he got hurt running away from Ray Lewis a few years back. I think the Falcons messed up by investing so much money in him and not being able to put solid talent around him to win without him or when he has a bad game, like all players do. Thats why his first coach got fired. I dont know about Jim Mora, from what I understand he was talking about doing a Nick Saban anyway. The Falcons need talented guys on offense other than Vick and they need a defense not made of glass.

Yes and No. He has been simalar to what T.O thinks he is. Micheal Vick is a good QB but hes one person that needs a lot of attention. Jim Mora wasnt close with his players. He was at practice and thats it. Micheal Vick is a 14 year old kid without a role model or a adult influence. People always say things about how Vick cant throw and cant be the leader the Falcons need him too be. If the falcons had a coach like Sean Peyton or Marty Schottenheimer Vick would be more in line and would play to his full potential.

Vick is not a coach killer. The problem with Vick is that his talent is so unusual, it has to take a special coach to fully harness his ability. You cant treat him strictly like a pocket passer or strictly as a runner (which is what they have been doing) because you only limit his ability. Even in a few games this year he has shown that he can throw for two or three hundred yards and 3 or 4 touchdowns. He just has to do it on a consistent basis. He needs to focus more and have the playbook opened up more and it wouldn't hurt to have receivers who can actually catch.

Let me see... The whole Atlanta team has changed over twice... Two head coaches are gone.... Vick is the only one standing. So I'd say yes.

I'm not saying he is a bad player or person... but he is like a computer virus for Atlanta. He needs Neo to help him solve the Falcon matrix.

Mike Vick is not a coach killer. The problem is he is a new kind of player.I don't think that a coach who may have been the youngest coach in the league, can handle him.He needs a strong veteren coach with new creative ideas.

yes, and there is a very easy to see reason why...it is because wherever he may go and whoever may coach him, they will always have to design the offense around him because he is so talented...therefore, he takes away from every other player in the offense, because he is the focal point and the entire scheme is designed especially for him to be a playmaker...i understand coaches are supposed to mold their system to their players, but in this one case it might just be easier to try to let him run a normal offense and not create an entire offense around him

no doubt......he is the perfect example why a quarterback s athletic ability needs to match the brains.....in college he was the next"no one"he was suppose to reinvent the position... but the quarterback position is probably most important single postion in all of sports....imagine his ability with peyton mannings instincts.....
