I haven't had my period since last June. I'm fifteen and used to weigh 98 pounds, but then I lost weight to get down to 80.2 pounds. Now I'm around 87 or 88 pounds. But I still haven't had my period...could missing it for so long cause me to become sterile? I'm kind of worried. i've already seen a doctor and they told me to gain my weight back anywhere from 95-100, so that's why I'm trying to eat a bit more.

It may not make you 'sterile' but can do 'irreperable damage' to your 'reproductive system' ... you have either anorexia, bulimia, or both, and need to be 'seen intensively' by both a good 'medical doctor who specializes in eating disorders' and a good psychiatrist or psychologist to 'help you' get through your 'problems with eating' and the 'loss of your period' and other things. Good luck ... I'll pray for you.

you have not done any permanent damage, but you will probably be sterile until you gain enough weight to have periods. notice that i said PROBABLY. do not use lack of periods as birth control, because your fertility will return two weeks before your period comes, so you won't know you are fertile right away.

you may be permanently harming other things, such as your liver and kidneys by being so severely malnourished. some parts of your body develop during this time of your life, and you only get one chance to do that, so if you are too malnourished for the development to occur, that damage could be permanent.
