I can't give Newt consideration since he is a third wayer. (Third Way Politics). The Clinton's and Tony Blair are third wayer's as well. Much of what third wayers believe is communism repackaged. I am talking about real communism, not what people traditionally think communism is.

Ol' Newt shouldn't have admitted to having an affair while he was piloting Clinton's impeachment. And then having the nerve to say his affair was different-he didn't lie under oath. Social morays dictate you don't ask a married man if he had an affair-that is private. Between a man and a wife. But then, please don't get me started on Hilary.

He served divorde papers on his first wife while she was in her hospital bed being treated for cancer and tried to get her medical benefits removed.
He called his second wife on the phone at her mother's house to tell her of the divorce and the 4 year affair with someone that was over 20 years younger then him. This young lady reported directly to him in her employment.
He has an image of not being slick and young, but of being a slick SOB.

Well the first thing that comes to my mind is hypocricy. It turns out that while Newt was hot to impeach Clinton, he was cheating on his own wife. I don't plan on voting for anymore hypocrits. If I can help it.
And a lot of people believe that they have crystal balls and can tell when someone is lacking in their personal lives. I can only consider those people to be hypocrits as well.

Well, I'm not terribly politically minded....but, let's start with his name..... "Newt."
Now, who wants to vote for a guy named Newt? Furthermore, who'd name their kid Newt? That clearly shows a lack of good judgment somewhere in his bloodline.
Secondly, you are right. He's just not hot enough.
But, I will take your advice and hear the guy out. Peace!

Well, I think that people are seeing "affair" and not "ideas". He is very smart, without a doubt. He is innovative. People seem to remember him in a very neg way from the impeachment times but really maybe he can get past that and look deeper. A LOT of these people are questionable in their personal lives. By the very nature of politics they are all narcissistic.

You said it in your question. He doesn't have the young, slick image. You can have great ideas, but if you don't look good, and sound good, forget it.
Remember, he WAS the speaker of the House, and that slipped through his unattractive fingers. He needs to be a support person.

thrilling, however the libs already have a unload truck crammed with airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dirt waiting for him. i think of he could do a great activity, yet merely permit the liberal media get ahold of him and we could get caught with yet another Omama or worse, Obama back.

I agree that Gingrich is brilliant & a top policy wonk. Unfortunately, he lacks the people skills a president needs.

I suppose that some of his supporters might say that he couldn't really do worse than what they've supported recently.
