Generally I see Spanish speaking people in a lot of manual labor jobs. The men are often in jobs such as; construction, landscaping, farms/ranches. The women in jobs such as; house keeper, cleaning, cooking.

The ideal thing here would be to learn enough english to at least interact with people who want to employ you. A lot of times the guys doing the work have a boss who does nothing but speak english, who unfortunately makes most of the money.

Try this book, I have heard it is really easy. I did the english version an I learned much more than I did in school.

We had a boy about my age who lived in our house growing up, when he moved in we couldn't communicate at all. When he left we spoke Spanish and he spoke English.

Realize that you are starting a new life. The start will be humble.

Through my travels I have learned that if you embrace the language and culture of your host country, then the local people will embrace you. For the most part.

I am sure that there are plenty out there.

Also, if a person speaks only Spanish, I think it is safe to assume that they are an immigrant. If they are an immigrant, then there are programs in place (funded by moneys that the government stole from me and others via taxation)whereby they can learn English. If a person migrates to this country and does not know English, they should be required to learn it before becoming a citizen, and they should be required to *start* learning it within 60 days of getting here. Period.

Another answer to your question: In Spain and Mexico, they can get all kinds of jobs.

Well since they only speak Spanish I would also say manual labor. You wouldn't be able to get a job dealing with the general public. But if they learned English and became bilingual they'd have a better chance at getting a better job because many companies see it as a plus if you're bilingual these days.

In New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and Orlando, there are neighborhoods where only Spanish is spoken and many other stores and companies in and out of those neighborhoods that cater to Hispanic people. You could get by not being able to speak a word of English.
