I am 7 months pregnant and just recently had sex with my husband. Soon thereafter, my vulva swelt up like a balloon. The morning after it has had an achy feel to it. I can hardly stand to wear underwear it hurts so bad. My mother says that labor is near (that's why I'm getting the soreness). Any suggestions?

I remember when it took hours of sex to get that feeling in the morning. lol it is increased blood flow in the area... and when you have sex, there is more blood flowing to the area.

thats where the tenderness is coming from. use a little ice in the area (wrap it in a cloth first) to help reduce the swelling... or let your husband do it (ya know what i mean *wink* )

try more lubercation for slippage. this will help with friction that can also cause swelling. And tell your husband not to be too rough with the sex.

Congrats on the baby!

Honey, I've never heard of that, although the swelling is fairly normal (increased blood flow). Swelling that makes YOU look like you have bigger balls that your husband is NOT normal, and should be checked out. It could be an allergic reaction to a soap, cologne, or detergent, or something else that your husband may have had on his skin.

I get a little sore after sex, but what you're describing sounds more like an allergy. Talk to your OB and get it checked out. Your hubby may need to switch skin care products.

I experienced somthing very similar and I too didn't understand why it hurt. My logical guess would be that you or your husband may have injured you during intercourse. Give it a couple days and see if it subsides, mine did. Other than that there is labial varicosities which is varicose veins in that area. Since there is swelling in that are you might want to have the doctor check ?
