No the world was not fat, it was just the principle belief set forth by the Roman Catholic Church as they were too ignorant to see the truth in fear it would go against God.
And technically the Vikings discovered America first, but they chose not to stay there; and even then Amerigo Vespucci came to America before Columbus did, and this is where the name America originated from. Columbus simply gets the credit because he stayed here and exploited the country as well as the natives.

Yes he discovered America.
The Vikings had been in America before but this fact was not known until much later after Columbus had spread the news about having reached India in Asia (as he thought). Calling the natives "Indians".
Columbus did not believe the world was flat .
The "experts" in the University of Salamanca thought the world was flat.
Finally Columbus had the backing from the king of Aragon and the Queen of Castilla so his project went ahead, discovering America and letting the world know it.

Nobody discovered America it was already inhabited by Native Americans. The first travelers to find America (by mistake) were Asian spice ships, trying to travel to Italy. Columbus found what was then uncharted islands (only to European maps) above South America. Then he brought disease and slave drives to American soil- Columbus and is sunny voyage to “discover” America -a false tale only Americans could come up with.
Flat? Yeah, start walking and don’t stop.

Are you serious? Columbus was the first old world European to stumble across the Carribean islands. He no more thought the world was flat than any other scholar of his time. Scholars knew for centuries that the world was round.

Yes the world was flat. What happened was in the mid 1600's the Earth was influenced by a near by black hole. The gravity of the black hole forced the pan cake shape of the earth to round. Of course after this happened we no longer fell off the end of the Earth into a black void that is full of Big Foots and Abominable Snowmen. May the Lord help those that fell into that pit.

The world is flat. Always has been flat. Research Galileo and Aristotle. NASA lies. Columbus was an idiot and murderer. He was senile and got lost. He discovered his error and made up the whole story of discovering the America's. The America's have never been discovered. It is all lies, lies propogated by "standardized education" in the United States, which really doesn't exist anyway since the America's have yet to be discovered.
Mark my words, one day a Columbus will come and "discover" what has not been lost, oh what a day that will be!! Unless he falls off the edge of the Earth. Imagine the media blitz that will follow that. It will be bigger than the OJ Simpson trial and the Anna Nicole fiasco combined. We will be discovered, I tell you. Pray for the mother ship!!
I know the truth, you can't silence the truth. Sic semper tyrannus................................
