Just a question...I have an outie but most people I know have innie's. Why is this?

Because there are no "in-betweenies". You are innie or outie of either club.

I think that there is no way to really know the answer to that, except that when a baby is born, the umbilical cord is clamped to prevent bleeding.

The cord eventually rots a little, and falls off - it is a little gross...

Anyway, what is left is an outie for everyone at first, but as the muscles in the tummy start working, it seems it pulls in that part of the body, and the belly button goes with it. I guess that whether there is anything still sticking out depends on how much of the cord was left behind when it healed.

By the way, many pregnant mommies get temporary outies while their bellies stick out.

the length of the unbilical cord cut. the mother has to keep alcohol on the cord end to keep it dry so it will shrink back.
