Unlike lions, tigers actually do live in the jungle, have a reputation for being fierce hunters/man-eaters, and are the biggest cats in the world (excluding cross breeds such as ligers).

I second that motion lions usually hunt in plains and similar open spaces so they should not be called king of the jungle. I do think though that its just a matter of speech and not to be taken literally as JUNGLE. The other odd thing is the LIONESS usually does most of the meat providing, food for thought, no pun intended.

Politics baby, Politics. The lions have the support of their prides, but tigers are solitary. Plus, the Lions had the Monkey union on their side, and I don’t have to tell you what kind of swing vote the Monkeys can bring to an election.
