Since we have to manually set our home computers forward an hour due to the NEW daylight savings time, will we have to turn our computers back an hour in 3 weeks when the pre-programed setting for daylight savings time kicks in?

Yes you will but if you have a legit operating sytem, anything form windows 2000 up, go to the microsoft site and download the patch. You will then be able to control when DST starts and stops and easily reprogram it if these dumasses change it again! What a joke anyway! All they have done is increase energy consumption in the morning and reduce it in the evening! They havent gained a thing!

Yes, unless you uncheck the "Automatically adjust clock for DST". under the Time Zone tab. On Nov 4th, you'll need to reset the clock back an hour to come off DST.

If you have anything older than Windows XP SP2, you'll need to do that or make the registry changes that are noted in Microsoft article KB928388.

If you have Vista, your computer will change automatically. If you have Windows XP or 2000 and your automatic updates are turned on, your computer should change automatically. If you'd like to be sure your computer with Windows 2000, XP, or Vista resets automatically, you can download a patch that will allow the computer to set the time correctly. Here's the link: http://windows.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=windows&cdn=compute&tm=179&gps=228_577_1012_537&f=00&su=p284.7.420.ip_p284.5.420.ip_&tt=2&bt=1&bts=1&zu=http%3A//support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst

If you have a Mac and you have your automatic updates on or you have OS X 10.4.5 and later, your computer will update automatically. For OS X 10.3 and 10.4 and later, you can download a patch from Apple. Here's the link: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ (Scroll down about halfway--there are two updates to download.)

If you have none of the operating systems above, then yes, you will have to set your computer manually.

Depends on what operating system you're using. If you're using XP or VISTA, you'll be okay (heck, you'd be okay anyway. Would just have to do it manually that's all). If you have 'automatic updates' turned on, WINDOWS has probably already downloaded the DST patch to your computer system and you won't have to do anything. If 'automatic updates' aren't turned on, go to www.microsoft.com and download the patch. If you're running APPLE, go to their site and I'm sure they've got a patch too...depending on how old your APPLE is of course.
