Friedel...He was always in a battle with Keller for the National team squad but this season he's having an incredible season. Those 4 saves in a row in the FA Cup against Arsenal I believe it was were just ridiculous.

Howard- The permanent move to Everton has helped him out a lot and he's become a better GK in Europe no doubt. He still has a tendency to get a little excited and get his head out of the game at times but that'll come with experience and playing in the EPL will get him that. (Wold Cup 2010 starter)

Marcos Hahnemann- another young GK who is starting to get his experience in the EPL. He's really starting to grown now as a player and every game he gets better with Reading. Hopefully he continues his progress and is the #2 GK in 2010.

Kasey Keller-His playing days are soon to be over, he's just not the same GK anymore and with playing on one of the worst teams in the Bundesliga isn't helping him. He's still a top goalie but his team just doesn't give him the support. I see him coming to the MLS within 2 years.

Matt Reis-MLS's guy who is getting some chances with the MNT. Reis is a stocky goalie who relies on strength rather than pure technical ability. He is one of the most dominant GK in MLS now and I hope he makes the jump to Europe to show us what he really has.

The US can always produce very good goalies and I think these show it. We have a new batch coming up as well led by Brad Guzan from Chivas USA and Chris Seitz from Real Salt Lake. With the MLS taking steps in the right direction (2nd year in the reserve league and now putting more emphasis on continental competition) we should be a lot stronger in 2010.

I would say...

Brad Freidel is the best this year, but has retired from international soccer.

Tim Howard second; excellent season

Kasey; bad season for his club, haven't watched any gladbach games but it can't be much Kasey's fault or he would have been benched right ?

Marcus, I like him a lot but, he tends to not hold onto to the ball enough, he'll block the shot by deflection giving the otherguys a second or third try on goal.

Matt Reis; I don't know enough about to judge
