about two weeks ago i noticed a bump in my nipple, and it is painful when poked or pinched. a few of my friends also have it, so i know it isn't cancer or anything. i would like to know what it is, why it happens, and about how long it will last. thanks.

One of the stages of puberty in boys is the development of the breasts. Yes, the male breasts will grow slightly, and the nipples will become very sensitive and even painful if touched. It last just a few months and then is over. For a short period time the boys breast may look swollen or even like they have mini breasts but then his upper torso begins to develope and the muscles begin to appear and all evens out. I'm a moderator at a teenage puberty site and this is common. On some guys it lasts about two weeks while on others for a few months. It's most likely due to a temporary imbalance in hormones. It'll eventually go away though. =)
