Yes, as long as you show continued improvement, you should be fine. Be careful not to let your GPA slip again as a senior - colleges and employers like to see you working to improve, not slacking off! Also, if there is a reason for your GPA being low this year, other than lack of effort, you can address it in your college applications (i.e. you had to work freshman year to help your family, etc).

i'm sorry if it is blunt. you could pass to an excellent college, probable. you could step it up nevertheless. D's particularly harm. i'm no longer attempting to be advise, yet you style of ruined your possibilities of stepping right into a sturdy/super college. maximum faculties concentration on grades 9-11 maximum. Senior 365 days somewhat much less. ALL years are significant

i was horrible in high school but i managed to make a 2.7 because i did slightly better my last 2 years. now that i am in college, i make all a's because i have a different motivation. its all mental and how much you want it. you should try to atleast graduate with a 3.0 so that you can apply for scholarships and get excepted into a university, that is, if you plan on going that route

Yes; colleges really appreciate students that started off poorly and improved greatly in high school. A bad freshman year doesn't ruin your opportunities.

yeah, i didn't do too well freshman year either, but it gets easier as u go along. watch out for junior year though, that one's a toughie. it's the year u prepare for college...taking the SAT's, graduation tests, looking for a good college/university. but after that, senior year is a piece of cake, unless u decide to take AP classes.
