I usually go to bed around 09:00pm and get up at 06:30am..is that too long for him to be in a crate?

well it depends on how old he is, if he is under a year then it depends on the number of months he is, is the number of hours he can be in a crate. but if he is over a year then he will be fine. My dogs sleep in the kennel and that keeps them from getting into things and playing all night long.

Its definetly okay, and he can go to bed the same time as you do. But I personally would wake up at midnight or so to let him go potty to be comfortable the rest of the night, 9 is pretty early. Dogs can hold it for a long time while in a crate, but its not fair to make them for an extended period. But you dont say if its a puppy or grown, because its two different answers. puppies need more attention to that to be trained the right way, a grown pup i guess can be ok for the night if hes let out right before bed.

Yes its perfectly fine as long as you let him out before bed and right when you wake up. Most dogs actually like sleeping in crates because they feel safer. As long as the crate is big enough to comfortably fit his body and for him it sit up then it is perfectly fine... if he really does not seem to like his crate though let him sleep on a dog bed next to his crate or a blanket/mat.
