The illuminati are a powerful group of elitist that control world affairs.When you hear of a shadow government it is thought to be the works of the illuminati.Some of there symbols are the all seeing eye and the pyrimad which is thought to be a symbol of power and control. You have to look no further than the back of your dollar bill to see their influence.Below the pyrimad and the all seeing eye can be found the words "nuvus ordo seclorum"
which translates into New World Order. Some of their slogans is divide and conquer and Order out of chaos. To take control of a given country you must divide them then it is easy to conquer.So with clever propaganda you can influence half of a given population to fight for you and the other half is conquered easier. Also when you create chaos within a country you can control it with government order or martial law.
This is demonstrated by Germany in the early 1940's and is being seen now in the US.With the patriot act and the misconceptions that if you are against the war you are some how anti american. The more you look into the Illuminati the more the puzzle of world domination comes into play.
