K, I am a person with very few friends right now, and I have this best friend, my only true friend, and she is just surpassing me in everything I do. She doesn't mean to, it just happens. I guess she is just more talented, more popular, and prettier than I am. I am really happy for all of her successes, but I have this feeling of envy that just keeps popping up. I have tried everything to get rid of these feelings, but they keep coming back... what do I do? SHe is my only constant friend and I hate having any ill feelings toward her!

It's normal to feel that way. Just keep it to yourself and try to be supportive of her. Eventually you will find that everything comes full circle. There will be a point where things aren't going so well for her and she may feel the same way. No one is ever completely happy with their own lives, human wants are unlimited.

If you have one true friend, you are a lucky person! All of us should strive to hang out with people that are better than we are. We can learn alot from them. Instead of feeling jealous over her success, find some of your own. Each of us has our own special talents and each one of us are different & unique. The key is to recognize your positives and not be so hard on yourself. If you find out what you are good at, chances are it won't matter to you anymore what her successes are--you can just be happy for her.

i would be jealous if i am in your shoes, but no, you shouldn't be, you are a good friend, the fact that you understand her ways and accepting that she 's better than you in some areas( i hope not all) then bravo to you! don't let that jealousy head cut in,if you do,well it might the start of something you might not want to get into, so cheer up..you know the song " the wind beneath my wings"? you are that! oh, she's lucky to have you as her friend!

Jealousy is a natural feeling. If you are truly happy for her and its not interfering with your friendship don't worry about the jealousy, just let it be your little secret.

Feel envy. And make it low in obvious.
Take all the envious feelings as the ladder to compete. Just don't make the ladder as the big hammer to stomp on your best-friend.
You love her, feel proud for her. Make yourself as her fan. She as your idol.
But still, stand beside her.

"don't walk behind me, i may not be your leader,
don't walk infont of me, i may not follow you,
walk beside me, i will always be your friend"
