Well first let me start by saying if it wasn't for having never owned a black guppy i could answer this on my own just fine but i have never had a black guppy..

She is a large, 85% black female.... and seeing that i have never had a fish die from petsmart she is another spectacular petsmart fish! ((There-fore she may possibly be already pregnant))

Her gravid spot ((spot where the eggs are)) is black all the eggs black which in any other colored fish mean she's pregnant.... But does her color automatically maker them black?

Umm....first of all guppys give live birth. She will NOT absolve the eggs since she can hold sperm from a male for 6 batches. Second she has a male in her tank so please don't answer without proper information.

Sounds like she is pregnant to me, coming from any shop I would basically count on it. With a black variety you may have to rely more on her size than the gravid spot and be ready for the babies sooner than you might otherwise think just to allow for errors in judgment that the black color can cause.

If you are asking if her color makes the babies black, well that depends on the father which you really probably have no clue about at this point. Black is not a dominate color and will get lost under things like red, blue or yellow. Blue makes the best mix genetically for getting more blacks unless of course you manage to get a black male.

She may be gravid, but without a male she wont lay eggs. The eggs will get reabsorbed by her own system eventually.

Another possibility is egg binding where her body is not reabsorbing the eggs like it should. Sometimes this can be lethal... but there isn't much you can do. Raising the tank temperature slowly may help.

And re. the extra details you mentioned, the title of your question clearly says betta, bettas do lay eggs. Agree that guppies are livebearers, but the question was regarding bettas or it was not worded correctly.
