Soulgirl, I have a theory that sooner or later each of us will play all the parts in this drama called life. The answer to your question is easy for me - sometimes I am a giver and sometimes I am a taker. I am a bit of a people watcher and observer of situations and I conclude that we mix differently with different people. sort of like recipes - example, I have always been a responsible person and yet I once dated a guy who threw me into a loop and I spent my rent money on a pool table for his birthday - I had never done anything that stupid before nor since. Therefore, some of us are like ice cream and sardines - good separately but godawful in combination-lol. The best combination is neither a giver nor a taker but both a giver and a taker. Good luck -k-

I try to be a giver, but often that makes me a taker from someone else. In other words, if I commit to my job, I can stay into the night finishing reports and networking, which gives to my employer. BUT that takes from my time with the family, and that's not a good thing. Especially with the lads. Yet when I give my all to the family, I come in late to work, leave early, and may shelve things in order to have quality time at home. It's a wishy-washy answer, but I live in a quite wishy-washy world where I happen to love both my job AND my family. I'd rather err on the side of "giving" to my family though in the long run. I can always get another job....getting another family would be harder for many obvious reasons.

Giver. It makes me feel good to do things for others. I don't keep score and I don't care if people give back. That's not the point.

I'm not going to lie and say I'm all giver. I'm both. I love to receive gifts, but I also get a warm feeling inside when I give. I love to do both.
