I have just recently found a spider in my house and i have tryed to find what type of spider it is.
Description: the head is shaped kinda like a spade on a card and on his head it looks like a three leaf clover His butt or whatever you call it is pointed at the end and it looks like it had two dents in it. The color is light and dark browns. The bottom of the spider is a really light brown

if you can tell me what kind of spider this is or give me a really good website for spiders in Illinois I would be very thankful

it could be one of many things, the first spiders to come to mind were the sac spiders and ground spiders, Families Clubionidae or Gnaphosidae. They all seem to fit your description pretty well, at least as far as body shape goes. Then I started thinking that maybe it could be a crab spider, most likely in the genus Xysticus, they are brownish and somewhat fit the description, plus many of the crab spiders have those two visible dents that you were talking about. Just going by the description of the clover shape, i thought it might be a shamrock spider http://bugguide.net/node/view/83644.

I have included some images of my first guesses, and there is a page attached that you can simply type in key words and possibly get an image to come up:

http://bugguide.net/index.php?q=search&keys=gnaphosidae&search=Search
http://bugguide.net/index.php?q=search&keys=xysticus
http://bugguide.net/index.php?q=search&keys=misumena

I hope this helps, but if not, try typing in some different key words into the serach engine of this page, and you might get lucky! most if the spiders in North America are quite widly distributed so if ever anyone has taken a photo of it somewhere it may end up on this page. Good Luck!

If you can give any more information, like the habiat it was in, whether it had a web or not, whether it was running, rough size etc, I can keep looking!
