whatever you want is technically allowed unless it messes with the law, which this doesn't.
family is often thought of as friends or closer than friends.
i say this seems fine.. take all the 'friends' you can get.
maybe you shouldn't be thinking about this too much...
and hey atleast you get along with your mother in law because
a lot of people find it to be hell.

My mother in law didn't even fit into the family category! She give me the creeps thinking about her, even now!

My mother in law was one of my closest friends until she passed away. Family can be friends to.
