Weren't the same global warming loons predicting the next ice age about 30 years ago? Research "scientists" always have to invent a crisis to justify their government funding, always remember that. Otherwise they'd be out of those unaccountable cush jobs they have.
When I was a kid, it was 'acid rain'.... it was going to destroy all plant and animal life.
Don't let it control you man, let Al Gore worry about it while he cruises the globe in his jet.

I agree that there is some conflicting evidence in global warning. However most evidence points to global warming as an actual man made event. Of course there will be those that disagree. That happens in every scientific community. Just because one scientist says it is not science does not mean we should discredit the entire body of work. This stuff happens all the time in science. For example, I would argue that String Theory is not science at all but just some pretty equations, others would vehemently disagree with me. That is OK. That is what it is about.
There will never be complete agreement on this issue from the scientific community. The problem is far too complex and the models used will have simplifying assumptions that themselves cannot be agreed upon. So finding some scientists that do not agree with global warming is not in itself significant or really proof of anything.
However I think all scientists do agree that if global warming does occur, the consequences would be catastrophic. We will reach a point will the damage done may not be reversible for centuries.
How willing are you to bet the survival of the human race on what you believe to be true? Or is it that you only want it to be true?
Riddlah,
The reason you do not here about acid rain anymore is that sulfur emissions, particularly from coal burning power plants has be practically eliminated. Due to upgrades and regulation a potential widespread environmental disaster was eliminated.
Edit: Gary l, the atmosphere of mars is ~ 0.5% as dense as the earth's. That is one of the most ridiculous arguements I have ever heard.

There is an enormous amount of Geological evidence that shows several warming and cooling cycles in the Earths recent history. This is not to say that we should not do what we can reduce greenhouse gases. But it is most likely that the warming trend we are currently experienceing, is a normal natural cycle. All arguments in the current debate are theries!!!! And only theries!!!! Only a few hundred years ago, the most learned men on this planet, thought it was flat!!!!! Be very careful what you chose to believe!!!!!!

I believe there is global warming, but I don't think that the human race is the main culprit, specially us Americans, as the rest of the world thinks. What will these theorists think when the world starts to cool down, they will always find something. I do believe the way the government creates all these programs to spend our hard earned taxes on are a scam. How about sending some money to the scientists that are trying to prove that the earth is going in cycles?

With the term "Global Warming", the entire point is completely lost.
The pollutants that we put into the air CANNOT be good for us or our children even if it may or may not be changing our climate.
The only question to ask here is... Should we be spewing more exhaust into the atmosphere or should we continue to develop better ways to fuel our vehicles, heat and cool our houses, power our appliances, etc.
If for no other reason than to remove ourselves from the grip of imported oil, we need to develop alternative fuels until they are no longer "alternative".

Is the earth warming.....maybe. Is it coz of c02 and man...probably not. In fact Mars would be warming faster EXCEPT most of it's atmosphere is CO2, which does not hold the heat in.....global warming is a billions of dollars scam...
