How would I get into acting in Northern Minnesota?

I am a junior in high school and there are no major theatres or academys around for acting and I was wondering how I would get into acting because I love it so much. I have done many plays and I would like to go into the movie acting instead of theatre. Any answer would really help. Thank You!

Well even if you want to do movies you should start on stage... that is pretty much how it works. You don't need a really big theatre, either. Your town probably has some sort of community theatre, or maybe even an informal troupe (what I mean by that is that my city has a band of actors that set up in a park and present Shakespeare). If that doesn't exist, you could always get involved with the drama department at your high school, and be in the school plays. If all else fails, you can post on youtube... but I really don't think that is what you're looking for. Good luck (or should I say break a leg?)!
