I have started really watching olod movies because I never really did before and I hear they are so good. I have seen: Gone With the Wind, Citizen Kane, Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz. I might have seen a couple others but I don't remember. What do you recommend?

Try any Audrey Hepburn or Katharine Hepburn movies- personally, these are my favorite, and they are great. Also, Casablanca is a classic. It is considered by many people to be one of the greatest of all time. Also, watch some old musicals like The King and I, Singin in the Rain, and My Fair Lady. All great movies. Have fun!

oh you mean OLD movies. there's only a few I personally find the brouhaha is justified. Twelve Angry Men is always better than I expect. Key Largo, The African Queen, and The Big Sleep are good Bogart movies. The Great Escape, The Bridge Over the River Kwai, Stalag 17, are good war movies. North By Northwest, Rope, Vertigo, all Hitchcock movies I like. Animal Crackers is primo Marx Bros.

I love the movie musicals!! If you want to get into them, I recommend seeing a good one, but I don't really know your style. I suggest going out and getting "That's Entertainment" before watching the musicals.

Anyway, my favorite old movies are Gigi, Singin' in the Rain, 1776 (which actually isn't that old), Cinderella (I've only seen two of the three but I'm sure they're all good!) Meet Me In St. Louis, and It's A Wonderful Life (but that's a holiday movie).

Also, you should look through the programming guide and search for the best looking classics on TMC (Turner Classic Movies).

Good luck!!

Some of the selections above are excellent. Be careful, though. Just because a movie is old does not mean it's worth seeing.
Some of my suggestions would be; "Monkey Business" with The Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid", "A Streetcar Named Desire", "North By Northwest", Laurence Olivier's "Richard III", "Cool Hand Luke", "Taxi Driver", "M*A*S*H", "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest", "Blazing Saddles" and "Network".
These are just a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Two answers for you here ...

The worst movie ever made which is quite entertaining in a weird sort of way ... Santa Claus Conquers the Martians with Pia Zadora. During the holidays, I tell my daughter and her friends that this is the worst movie ever made and they are spellbound for up to 45 minutes.

Best (IMHO) is The Bad Seed! (The 1956 version - not the later one). If you can find this black and white movie, it will leave you saying 'OMG'!!! 'What a fine ending'!

The James Dean movies are good, especially "Rebel Without a Cause".
Another movie I enjoyed was "Jailhouse Rock" with Elvis Presley.
The best of the older movies for me, though, is "Dr. Zhivago".
